First observed back in 2003 by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), World Day for Safety and Health at Work on 28 April galvanises efforts to ensure we’re all contributing to creating safe and healthy workplaces. These topics are firmly on the agenda at kp, but to ensure we’re creating a workplace that allows our teams to reach their full potential whilst prioritising safety and health, we all need to play our part.

I’m Angelina Roerich. I’m a General Administration Apprentice at kp and I work in Montabaur, Germany since August 2021. I’m also a Youth and Trainee Representative on our Works Council and joined the company.

In today's world, environmental concerns are at the forefront of global discussion and the need for sustainable solutions has never been more important. Among the many challenges, the issue of plastic pollution looms large, with single-use plastics posing a significant threat to our planet's health. However, a viable solution remains in the form of recyclable substrates - a game-changer in consumer packaging.

Medical devices play a critical role in healthcare, helping to diagnose, treat, and monitor various medical conditions. From surgical instruments to implantable devices, medical devices come in various shapes and sizes and are often made of different materials.

I joined kp just over a year ago and was drawn to the organisation because of the opportunity it presented to me in terms of continuing to develop my career. I believe it’s important to have diverse representation at all levels of a high-functioning organisation, and that women need to be a part of the dialogue in how we build, shape, and grow our company – and what role the workplace plays in our lives in and out of work.
