Investing in Better: Our plan for 2026–2030

Reduce our impact

We are pursuing four clear, refreshed objectives between now and 2030 that will help us to build resilience and use resources more efficiently, while protecting the environment and supporting our people and communities.

Investing in Better also ensures that our portfolio of products will reinforce kp’s leadership in responsible packaging.

Our objectives

Our 'Investing in Better' sustainability strategy incorporates four overarching objectives, which we will report on from 2026 onwards.

Reduce our impact

Reduce our impact

Reduce our impact

We will continue to work towards reducing our environmental impact by improving energy and resource efficiency, reducing emissions and embedding ‘zero waste to landfill’ practices in our business.

By 2030, we aim to:

  • Deliver 25 million kWh of verified energy savings from projects.
  • Reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 75% against our 2019 base year.
  • Reduce absolute Scope 3 emissions by 36.5% against our 2019 base year.
  • Maintain zero (0kg) waste-to-landfill at all sites (where legislation allows).

Drive product circularity

We aim to continue expanding our recyclable product range, further embedding circular design principles and promoting closed-loop systems.

By 2030, we aim to:

  • Increase the percentage by volume of recyclable packaging sold.
  • Achieve 30% PCR content, derived from post‑consumer thermoforms, in products within the kp Tray2Tray® programme.
  • More than 50% of rigid PET films and trays in our food packaging applications will incorporate material exclusively derived from post-consumer thermoforms.

Support our people, partners and communities

We are committed to maintaining and championing world class health and safety standards, building a diverse and highly engaged workforce, and making a positive impact on our local communities.

By 2030, we aim to:

  • 100% of sites deliver at least two impactful community projects annually that create a positive contribution to local communities.
  • Improve and sustain employee engagement score to over 75%.
  • Ensure 100% of sites implement annual site‑wide safety workshops to strengthen safety awareness and culture.

Advance sustainable procurement

We are focused on integrating sustainability into sourcing decisions, by supporting responsible suppliers and improving outcomes across the supply chain.

By 2030, we aim to:

  • Complete environmental, social and governance (ESG) assessments for 75% of strategic suppliers, covering 90% of strategic spend.
  • Receive annual Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) submissions from 100% of relevant suppliers.
  • Achieve 100% annual completion of sustainability training for all divisional procurement team members.
  • Collect Life Cycle Assessment data from 75% of carbon strategic suppliers.
  • Completion of child labour risk assessments for 75% of strategic suppliers.
