Sustainability dominated the exhibition floor, with countless materials and formats on show for businesses looking to reduce their impact on the environment. Paper materials featured prominently, but they are far from the only option – in fact, for many applications, plastic film innovations are more closely aligned with the goals of the circular economy.
At the kp booth, we were at the centre of the conversation, highlighting our portfolio of recyclable, lightweight, and low-carbon packaging solutions designed to help customers comply with PPWR and the eco-modulated fees it will bring in 2026.
“Customers are already seeking the lowest EPR fees through greener materials and lighter-weight designs,” Rawlings noted. “kp is already there with solutions that balance performance, protection, and sustainability.
“My takeaway from the show is that sustainability is the hot topic, and there are a multitude of ways to express the sustainability of your product line. Plastic packaging seems to be increasingly interesting for large retailers. And the international makeup of the visitors made this a truly European show, highlighting the sheer reach of the sustainability megatrend.”
To support the industry further, kp launched its PPWR eBook at FachPack, providing a practical guide for understanding the regulation and preparing packaging portfolios for compliance.
