Klöckner Pentaplast (kp) offers a range of specialty rigid films, from metallic and temperature resistant to films that look and feel like other materials. These high-quality films are ideal for packaging that needs to stand out. Whether it's for luxury trays of chocolates or straight-to-table cheese boards, we can help you find what you need for that premium look.
Normal polyester (PET) films have a fairly low temperature resistance that makes them perfect for fresh food; however, our specialty Hotfill™ PET rigid film supports an increased temperature resistance of up to 90ºC/194ºF. This makes it ideal for food products that are packaged hot and then have an extended shelf-life, like jam and honey. Not only will consumers see glossy packaging with excellent transparency that allows for instant and clear visibility of the product contents, but it is also suitable for deep draw applications like pots. kp’s Hotfill™ range uses a mix of post-consumer recycled PET (or SmartCycle® film) for added sustainability credentials, is fully recyclable and meets the growing demand for highly secure packaged goods made with sustainable materials. This rigid film range runs on standard thermoforming and form, fill and seal machinery.
Jams, butters, honey, cream cheeses and sauces
Recyclable, high shelf attractiveness, safe and sustainable, excellent product clarity
Metallised specialty rigid films made using vinyl and polyester (PET) offer a range of colour options with various barrier and sealing properties. Klöckner Pentaplast’s (kp) in-house metallisation process not only means flexibility in design options but also means products are secure and their visibility is increased among other products. These films can be used to make your products look premium, whether showing off luxury chocolates in a tray or holding slices of smoked salmon, the options are endless. The metallised rigid film can be supplied as a mono (single) polymer which can often be widely recycled or multi-layer film options. Metallised rigid films can be made with or without a barrier and in a range of bi-colours, for example gold/silver, red/silver, or in single colour silver, or can be customised to your requirements. All metallised rigid films will run on standard thermoforming and form, fill and seal machines.
