Klöckner Pentaplast to Present at SPC Impact 2018
Klöckner Pentaplast will present a session entitled “Creating End Markets for Recycled Materials” at SPC IMPACT 2018, to be held April 24 - 26, 2018, at the Park Central Hotel in San Francisco, California. SPC Impact is a three-day event where attendees connect through thought-provoking presentations, engaging panels and interactive sessions.
Dr. Maurizio Carano, Product Marketing Director for kp Food and Consumer Products (FCP), will host the session on creating end markets for recycled materials on April 26, 2018, at 1:15 PM. In his session Dr. Carano will present an approach to ‘designed for sustainability’ and how businesses can create and expand markets for recycled materials. The content is supported by Klöckner Pentaplast’s Specialty Division Label Films innovation, Pentalabel® ClearFloat®, a high-performing floatable label film that meets the Design for Recycling Guidelines as set by the Association of Postconsumer Plastics Recyclers, providing a higher yield of PET container recycling. Attendees will look at what is required to ensure a packaging solution can not only fulfill classic value chain challenges, but also re-enter the same value chain in its post-consumption life. “Many innovations have resulted in plastic packaging being used again after the end of its ‘first life’,” Dr. Carano stated. “In fact, PET has distinctive attributes in that it can be recycled back into food grade packaging over and over again”, he continued.
