At kp, we're always looking for the newest technological breakthrough in rigid film. Our innovations improve materials so they perform better for you and lower your costs.
kp's innovative Pentapharm® alfoil® SG film gives you enhanced performance. This new PVdC formulation lowers the coefficient-of-friction to significantly improve the film's slip properties. This offers numerous benefits:
- Pentapharm® alfoil® SG film gives you higher line and machine throughput yields.
- It prevents blocking on preheat plates to offer more consistent material flow during thermoforming. More uniform thermoforming produces barrier improvements in the formed cavity.
- It eliminates the need for specially coated tooling, pre-heat platen, and mould surfaces.
- You get enhanced tablet and gel/soft gel filling performance.
- The film significantly improves de-nest properties, both film-to-mold and blister-to-blister.
- Film and finished packages lay flatter, resulting in higher productivity in blister packing operations and enhanced product appeal.
Klöckner Pentaplast's Pentapharm® alfoil® SG film is suitable for all pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products and is available in all Pentapharm® alfoil® formulations, from moderate to ultra-high moisture and oxygen barrier.
- These films are equivalent to all current grades of available PVdC products.
- All Pentapharm® alfoil® SG films meet regulatory requirements and are DMF listed (PVdC modification in full compliance with FDA and regulatory requirements).
- Pentapharm® alfoil® SG thermoforms in the same temperature range as PVC mono film, runs on standard PVC tooling, and is sealable to all standard vinyl-compatible lidstocks.
This computer simulation program introduces finite element analysis for blister pack thermoforming. The program provides thickness distribution, surface area, and permeability estimates of thermoformed cavities. These calculations allow package engineers to design optimal blisters around product shapes and barrier requirements.
Package designers, technicians, and engineers may use the program for a variety of projects for existing and new package applications.
- You can explore the effects of tool geometry, film types, and process conditions before running actual experiments.
- Evaluate barrier improvement and optimization for existing tools and films. Understand cause and effect while addressing constraints.
- Map out the range of options for both thermoformed cavity and machine layout, while addressing the necessary constraints and requirements of the blister package shape and barrier.
- Thickness distribution calculations often estimate measured values with better than 10% accuracy for both pressure forming and plug-assisted thermoforming applications.
- Assist film selection and provide package engineering support services.
Pentapharm® ACLAR® S03 is a barrier film that is specially formulated to give you high-speed productivity gains. It is ideal for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products that require strong moisture protection and enhanced performance.
- Pentapharm® ACLAR® S03 is the only ACLAR®-laminated film in a three-layer symmetrical structure (PVC/ACLAR®/PVC). Symmetrical films improve lay-flat of finished packages, increasing productivity in blister packing operations, on both packaging lines and end-use applications, including vinyl face-seal applications.
- This three-layer film provides improved formed-cavity moisture barrier than non-symmetrical structures.
- It thermoforms in the same temperature range as PVC mono film and the PVC skins offer a low coefficient-of-friction, preventing blocking on preheat plates and offering more consistent material flow during the thermoforming process.
- It runs on standard PVC tooling, is sealable to all standard vinyl-compatible lidstocks, and is ultrasonically sealable to vinyl face-seal cards without coatings.
- Pentapharm® ACLAR® S03 is available in all ACLAR® formulations from moderate to ultra-high moisture barrier.
ACLAR® is a registered trademark of Honeywell International Inc.
This three-layer laminated film (Vinyl/PE-EVOH/ACLAR®) offers oxygen properties which have otherwise been unavailable in Pentapharm® ACLAR® structures. This makes it an ideal cost-effective alternative to foil-based materials. It allows for smaller footprint packages, which require less material and cost per package as compared to cold-form-foil packages.
- Pentapharm® ACLAR® G03 works for products requiring medium to ultra-high moisture and oxygen barrier properties, depending on the type of ACLAR® film requested
- Good optical clarity produces clear packages and product visibility. It is non-yellowing.
- It offers excellent machinability on standard form/fill/seal packaging lines and sealability to common vinyl lidding materials.
